Pumpkins and Wheat Galore!

YAY! At Fitzgerald Flowers, it is officially fall. Working in retail, the seasons and holidays all start early, which means it's the perfect place for me to be. It's all I can do to not open up ALL my boxes of fall decorations and put them all up... Seriously... It's hard not to when you're in Eastern Oregon and fall starts a month earlier than it technically is supposed to.
I've been wearing sweaters and boots for weeks now, people.
Julie has heaps of pumpkins growing in her garden and believe it or not, they are already huge! Traditional, green, white, cinderella, So she brought down a few and we redecorated the front window!

We have a good customer who owns a farm and graciously brings us tons and tons of wheat! This year we decided to use it all up and make twisty wheat shocks! This was quite a project. Once we figured out a good technique, it didn't take long for me to whip out a few! The trick is starting with a clump in the middle and adding groups of wheat in a circular pattern around the middle, making the end flare out so it can stand up on its own.

Revis Wedding

It's happened again! We had a wonderful weekend full of beautiful wedding flowers! I swear I say this every week... but this may be my favorite wedding!

These bouquets were such a pleasure to make because the bride wanted each of the bouquets to be different, full of lots of fillers and for them to be wild and natural. That is, after all, how we do it best!
Bride's Bouquet:

This thing is a beast! We are loving the latest style of bridal bouquets (thanks Pinterest). That kind of loose, wild, wider than tall hand held style. With a gorgeous assortment of flowers like these, it makes our job a lot easier!

Bridesmaids' Bouquets:
So each bouquet had similar things in it. All the same fillers and supporting role flowers, while the feature flower in each was each different.

Which one is your favorite?!

I really liked the way the lisianthis bouquet (4) and the lily bouquet (6) turned out. They are all so beautiful and unique!

We love to give the brides toss bouquets with the flowers that are left over. The idea of having a bride chuck a giant beautiful bouquet/piece of art behind her for some lady to catch (or not catch), just makes me so sad. So we make a smaller version that we haven't completely poured our hearts and souls into!
I had to show you guys the one for this wedding because I think it is too lovely not to share!
Does that look like a handful of dreamy garden flowers or what?!

Wedding Central!

We had three weddings this weekend, so Julie, Yvonne, Erin and I have been working away all day yesterday and today! The best part, is that all three weddings are very different! We have one rustic bohemian style, one classic romantic, and one country.  All different - all special.
I wish we had three weddings every weekend! Designing wedding work creates a joyful, beautiful and creative environment in the flower shop.

West and Hartenstein Wedding
-Imbler-
This is our rustic, bohemian wedding and it was so much fun to create! Reva gave us a lot of freedom with what we wanted  to do with the bouquets. Julie went to market and got to pick out a bunch of special little things! We had never designed with hops before so that was a new experience, which I think turned out awesome! The snowberries may be my favorite thing about this whole bouquet! Actually, who am I kidding, it's all dreamy.

We made 50 of these little guys. Fifty, I say! It was fun though because each vase was a different shape and size with a few different flowers.

In this wedding we used: spray roses, vendella roses, green hydrangea, peach stock, blush/green seedum, hops vine, babies breath, seeded eucalyptus, wheat, dahlias, mint, snowberries, hypericum berries, bupleurum, and pink astilbe.

Carman & McKinnis Wedding
- Summerville -
This is our country wedding of the weekend, which worked out perfect for this fall weather we have been having this week! It was a nice contrast from the pastel wedding we did before. So many vibrant colors!
