Succulents and Sedums and Air Plants, oh my!

Julie went to the Portland Flower Market last week and brought home trays full of succulents and air plants. I was so excited! We've been talking about carrying them in the store for a while now but just haven't made it happen. Until now! We got a few different styles of terrariums and several kinds of air plants. We decorated the insides with rocks and different kinds of moss and just placed the plants inside. In this first picture, we hung one from the top so we had to glue it in using floral glue.

This one is my favorite. It looks like an octopus!

The succulents were fun to plant too! We had all these cool containers hiding in the back room that we hadn't been able to find anything small enough to put in them! It worked out perfectly. I researched the names and found out what variety some of the succulents were so we could write the names on the little chalkboards.

Tiny little cuties!

We got these big beautiful dusty blue ones and I love them! We put them in our new painted terracotta pots!

Wedding Weekend!

Wedding Weekend!
Last week was wedding weekend! We had four weddings total, including the Trisler Wedding that I posted about earlier. Julie and I were working all day Thursday and Friday creating wedding flowers. She got to go to the Portland flower market earlier that week and got to hand pick everything for each wedding. She happily came home with a car FULL of flowers!
What was even more fun, was that each wedding was completely different! It happens too often that one style is popular with everyone and we get the same theme 5 weekends in a row. All of the brides had an idea of their colors and style and gave us freedom to use things we thought would look perfect for their style!

The Farthing wedding was all yellow and white with dahlias and hydrangea:

Lastly, we had a sweet little bride's bouquet to do for an outdoor park wedding.

This bouquet is simply red roses, seeded eucalyptus, and two varieties of queen anne's lace.

Trisler Wedding

Trisler Wedding

This wedding is the favorite of the year! We love it when brides come to us with unique, creative ideas and give us enough free reign to add our special touch to make their wedding flowers absolutely glorious! Julie went to the Portland flower market and hand-picked everything for the weddings this weekend and that made putting together all the flowers for this wedding so amazing!

Here is the combination Julie put together!

BRIDAL PARTY FLOWERS

Bridal Bouquet:

She had us tie her grandmother's necklace into her bouquet as her "something old" for the ceremony!

Bridesmaids Bouquets:

We started making tags special for all our brides' and bridesmaids' bouquets! They say the name of the bride or "bridesmaid" on the front, and on the back they say who the bouquet was designed by and "Fitzgerald Flowers".
Just another extra something to make the flowers special!

RECEPTION FLOWERS
The bride brought in all these cool lanterns for us to arrange flowers in. They were going to be up in the front of the ceremony as well as all along the aisle.
